The world was doing great. However, nuclear and other topics were hot in the world. The hotter topic became the deadly coronavirus, which started from Wuhan, China. This virus is even more dangerous for people with respiratory problems and old aged people. The patients of this virus are reported with fever and breathing problems. The main thing about this virus is that it spreads rapidly.

Speaking the truth, no one and no country in this world was prepared for this pandemic. And we are still trying to recover what it took from us.

Covid-19 is still the evilest panic in the 21st century. Everyone is talking about Covid-19 and getting Covid-19 testing in today’s world. Many of us have already taken the tests multiple times. So should you also take the test for confirmation?

Let’s break down the answer of whether to take Covid-19 test or not but first let’s know and understand a little about this Covid-19 virus.

Causes of Coronavirus:

Respiratory droplets are actually responsible for the transmission among humans. However, the virus was first seen in animals not in humans and from animals the corona virus transmitted to humans. Transmission from human to human of this coronavirus is rapid.

Furthermore, if viral contained droplets come in contact with another person then there is an active transmission of this virus.

Differences of Covid and Flu

Covid is often mistaken as seasonal flu. People mostly think that seasonal flu is the reason that they are getting complications in their health issues. Though the symptoms are similar with Covid-19 viruses, this coronavirus is severe and lethal than seasonal flu.

Symptoms of Covid-19 virus

When the Covid-19 virus was new, it puzzled the scientist, doctors and researchers. Massive research was agreed out to develop an effective treatment of Covid-19 virus. It is very difficult to differentiate the initial symptoms of flu and Covid. People having Covid-19 noticed the following symptoms while testing properly:

  • Headache
  • Loss of smell and taste
  • Muscle pains
  • Cough
  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Diarrhea, nausea and Vomiting
  • Chills
  • Sore throat

Some people even don’t develop any of the following symptoms and the symptoms may vary from person to person. So, testing yourself can be a great solution for this problem.

Testing Procedure of Covid-19:

There are three types of tests for Covid-19 testing. This process includes lab sample collection either by taking blood samples or nasal swab collection.

1) PCR tests

PCR means polymerase chain reaction. It’s a test to detect genetic material from a specific organism, such as a virus. The test detects the presence of a virus if you have the virus at the time of the test.

However, this test can detect viruses even if the Virus no longer infects you.

At first the Nasal or throat swab is collected from the respiratory tract by the help of a soft tip with a flexible stick that is inserted into your nose. This sample is then confined in a tube and sent to the lab for further testing.

This is considered as the most accurate test for Covid-19.

2) Antigen tests

This test is commonly known as Rapid Diagnostics tests. An antigen is a substance that can trigger an immune response when present in the body. It may be a toxin, chemical, virus, bacterium, or other substance from outside of the body. Tissues and cells in the body also contain antigens that can cause immune responses.

If a sample from a person’s nose or throat contains the virus, the antigen test will indicate the result with a visual change. In an over-the-counter (OTC) antigen test, a positive result typically appears as a line on the test, similar to a pregnancy test.

3) Antibody tests

This is one of the effective Covid-19 testing methods as they are used to know if someone had the Covid-19 infection. Blood samples are taken in order to detect the antibodies that are produced by our body’s immune system. It depends upon how our body responds to the sample.

PCR test and Antibody tests are recommended for the diagnostic as these two tests are highly accurate.

Testing Results Types of Covid-19

If your test result is negative then, congratulations you have lesser things to worry about. However, viruses are still out there and can catch you any time. So, staying careful by applying proper health cautions is recommended.

And if the test result is positive then you have the active case of Covid-19. Proper health care and medication is needed in this case. Isolation and medical attention is given if the case is positive. With the proper health care, you can successfully overcome Covid-19 virus.
